英文也有“谐音梗”——Pun

提起“谐音梗”，相信大家作为5G网络冲浪选手一定都不陌生，尤其在经过吐槽大会王建国的带动之后更是火遍了大街小巷，其实在英语中也有这样“谐音梗”的存在，那就是Pun，今天我们就一起来了解一下什么是Pun吧

首先我们先来看一下Pun是什么意思：The use of a word in such a way as to suggest two or more meanings or different associations, or the use of two or more words of the same or nearly the same sound with different meanings, so as to produce a humorous effect.

所谓pun，通常是指利用一个单词的两个含义，或者利用两个特定的单词，达到“一语双关”的目的，其构成方式主要有以下三种：1. Homophonic Pun 同音异义双关（谐音双关）Homophonic puns is a type of pun that plays with words or phrases that have different spelling but have similar pronunciation.

For example:“You can tune a guitar, but you can’t tuna fish. Unless of course, you play bass.”

这里的tuna就使用了双关语，因为它与 "tune a "的发音相同，你发现了吗？2. Homographic Pun  同词异义双关（多义词双关）This type of pun plays with words that have identical spellings but have different meanings

and different pronunciations.For example:“You can tune a guitar, but you can’t tuna fish. Unless of course, you play bass.” – Douglas Adam

这里的bass也是双关语，bass读/beɪs/时指乐器，读/bæs/时指鲈鱼，所以这里的play bass也有两个意思3. Homonymic Puns同音同形双关（歧解双关）These type of pun involves homonyms. Homonyms are words that have similar spelling but have different meanings and origins

words.For example:——Why are lawyers all uneasy sleepers?——Because they lie first on one side, and then on the other, and remain wide awake all the time.  

这里的lie 既可理解为“躺”，又可译为“撒谎”所以这句话既可以理解为律师在床上老是翻来翻去，不能安睡，而另一重语境又是暗指律师在帮人打官司时两边撒谎，而且还要一直保持高度的清醒，不使谎话说错了以致穿帮。
