investigation 调查；调查研究英文意思是 an inquiry into unfamiliar or questionable activities，是对未知、不熟悉、甚至质疑的行为活动开展的调查行为。

在临床研究里面 ，investigation 特指“研究”，如研究产品 investigational productsinvestigation 后面跟介词“on”或“of”，表示某种类型的研究/调查。

have impact on 对…有影响临床试验每一个环节都会影响到受试者的安全和健康：clinical investigations may have an impact on the safety and well-being of human subjects.
