Tanghulu is a traditional snack in China, especially popular in the north. It is made by skewering fruit (usually haws) and coating them in a layer of sugar syrup, which hardens to form a crunchy shell.

In winter, you can find vendors selling them everywhere. The red sugar-coated haws shine brightly in the cold weather, adding warmth to the dull days and bringing smiles to passersby.

糖葫芦,是中国的一种传统小吃,在北方尤为常见把水果(通常是山楂)穿起来,再裹上糖浆,糖浆变硬之后形成一层松脆的外壳,就是糖葫芦每到冬天,在街头巷尾到处都能看到卖糖葫芦的小贩,那一串串红艳艳的糖葫芦,给清冷黯淡的冬日增添了温暖的色彩,也给路过的行人带来了笑脸。

Where does it come fromTanghulu has a long history, but its exact origin is unclear. It is believed to date back to the Song Dynasty.

According to legend, a princess fell ill and lost her appetite. The royal chef tried making a string of sugar-coated haws, which looked vibrant and had a sweet-sour flavor, and it really helped her feel better. Since then, sugar-coated haws have spread and become a beloved snack among the people.

起源糖葫芦的历史较为悠久,具体起源时间难以确定,但一般认为起源于宋朝相传,宋朝一位皇帝的妃子因病食欲不振,御厨便尝试用山楂串成串,外面裹上一层糖浆,不仅颜色鲜艳,味道也酸甜可口,果然让妃子胃口大开从此,糖葫芦便流传开来,成为了民间广受欢迎的小吃之一。

How to make it1. Ingredients: The ingredients are simple: fruit and sugar. Traditionally, haws are used, but nowadays, strawberries and grapes are also popular.

2. Making It: First, wash the fruit and put it on a stick. Then, heat the sugar in a pot until it melts into a syrup. Quickly dip the fruit into the syrup, ensuring it is evenly coated. Allow it to cool, and it’s ready to enjoy!

制作方法1. 原料:原料很简单,就是水果以及白糖、冰糖等糖类传统上,做糖葫芦的水果通常是山楂,近些年来,也会用到草莓、葡萄等其他水果2. 制作方法:将水果洗净,用竹签串成串然后将糖放入锅中加热,熬制成糖稀。

将串好的水果放入糖稀中快速转动,使水果表面均匀地裹上一层糖稀最后将裹好糖稀的糖葫芦放在一旁冷却后,即可食用
