nations就是联合国的意思；像“state”，美国的全称是“the United States

 

讲到“国家”的英文，小伙伴们脑海里是不是蹦出了好几个单词比如nation，the United nations就是联合国的意思；像“state”，美国的全称是“the United States of America”,即“美利坚合众国”；还有一个”country”,也是表示“国家”的意思。

那同样表示“国家”，这三个单词有什么区别呢？1、NationWikipedia：A nation (from Latin: natio,"people, tribe, kin, genus, class, flock") is a large group or collective of people with common characteristics attributed to them — including language, traditions, mores (customs), habitus(habits), and ethnicity.

Nation指生活在某一土地上的族群，是某一特定人群在某种文化意义上的共同体。他们有着共同的一些特征，比如语言、传统、习俗等。

Country更多的指一个国家山川大地等自然特征，强调“疆土、土地”概念。
